UNSMIL stresses UN’s commitment to women’s full participation in UN Action Plan

UNSMIL Deputy Head for Political Affairs Stephanie Williams, emphasized the Mission’s commitment to ensuring the full participation of women in the National Conference.

“The mission provides space for women’s participation in the political process, national and local reconciliation, the electoral process, national consultations and economic reforms, Williams said in her brief before the Security Council Working Group on Women and Peace on Wednesday.

Williams pointed out that the mission’s efforts aim to advance the role and representation of Libyan women in all aspects of peace and security, including women perspectives and priorities in all UN programmers, building capacities were needed, and ensuring women voices are heard.
