The government of Ali Zidan held an extraordinary meeting on Sunday at the Prime Minister’s office in Tripoli that focused mainly on the security situation in Libya and the latest terrorist attack on a military checkpoint east of Benghazi city.
A suicide attack occurred early Sunday morning that resulted on the killing of 13 soldiers and policemen, two missing and three wounded two of them seriously.
The Ministerial Council also discussed the draft law for the 2014 budget which will be soon sent to the National Congress.
The council accepted a proposal from the Minister of Communications and Informatics regarding the establishment of the Space Foundation of Libya.
The council also reviewed a proposal related to shareholding companies presented by the Minister of Economy.
The Cabinet decided at this meeting to refer the Statute of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) to the General National Congress for ratification.
