Six Dead, 25 Injured in Libya Suicide Bombing Claimed by Islamic State1

Six people were killed and more than 25 injured in a Sunday suicide bomb attack claimed by Islamic State (ISIL) terrorist group that took place in Libya’s northwestern city of Mistrata, Libya Al Hurra TV channel reported.

“Today’s #ISIS suicide bombing near #Misrata which left 6 #Libya|ns dead & 25+ injured was carried out by a foreign fighter from Sudan,” Libya Al Hura said on Twitter.

Earlier on Sunday, local media reported citing ISIL radio station that an Islamic State member detonated a vehicle at the Saddada checkpoint east of Misrata. First reports said that four people, including a woman and two kids, have died and 21 injured as a result of the blast.
Located some 110 miles away east of Tripoli, Misrata is Libya’s third-largest city. It is the city where in mid-February ISIL extremists captured 21 Egyptian coptic Christians and later beheaded them.

The ISIL is a Sunni Islamist militant group in control of large areas of Syria and Iraq. The group is known for its extreme violence.
