During a telephone conversation, a source in Sirte, told Alwasat that more than 50 police officers previously working for the Interior Ministry office, have applied for repentance from ISIS. The terror group has opened what it calls a ‘Repentance Office’ in the city’s Rabat mosque.
The ISIS terror organization has taken down Libyan flags flying atop government buildings and streets replacing them with black flags. It has also destroyed 12 homes belonging to local officials, who have fled the city in fear for their lives.
The source, who preferred not to be named, said in an earlier conversation that an increasing number of African fighters have also flowed to ISIS in Sirte during the last few months, they are stationed at Ghardabiya airbase, while the original members of the organization are in the center of the city.
