The office of Interim Prime Minister Abdullah al Thinni released a statement Thursday, announcing the appointment of Khaled Najm as the new chief of Media and Culture.
Najm, who replaces Khalid al Ghuwairi, perviously served in the Executive Office of Public Information, an organization formed in 2011 during the fall of the Gaddafi regime.
Al Ghuwairi has come under fire lately following alleged threats he has made to journalists, which has prompted the interim government to condemn him and assure the media that his “personal comments do not reflect the views of our government.”
