A European source told LIBYAPROSPECT that there is news about results of talks between an official Russian side and officials from the Libyan House of Representatives (HoR) to break the arms embargo on Libya.
The source said that Russia called the HoR to convene for issuing an official letter gives an agreement for the Russian military to intervene in Libya and support the army of the HoR in Benghazi under the leadership of General Khalifa Haftar.
It is worth mentioning that the head of the HoR, Ageela Saleh, visited Moscow last month and met the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov.
In that visit, Saleh and Lavrov talked about how Russia can support Haftar and his army.
In the same context, it is essential to mention that even Haftar visited Russia one month earlier and talked to some Russian military commanders.
Also, at that time, the Russian ambassador to Libya, Ivan Molotkov, said that the talks between Haftar and the Russians were about how Russian can break the arms embargo and send weapons to Haftar.
