An armed group has attacked a police department in Benghazi leaving one officer dead, local sources reported.
The attack took place Saturday night in Al-Barka district. It’s the second within a week.
The sources said the armed group attacked the police department with automatic machine guns in an effort to free on of the detainees. Captain Musa Al-Mijibri was killed in the exchange of fire with the armed group.
Benghazi Security Directorate declined to identify the armed group, but the sources revealed that it is part of Al-Saiqa Force, one of the main factions in the ongoing war in the city.
