Clashes in Libya’s Sabha displace over 120 families

120 families in Libya’s southern city of Sabha have been displaced due to the tribal fighting that has lasted for days, the city’s municipality said on Saturday.

“120 families from the Al-Tayuri neighborhood were displaced from their homes into the city as a result of the clashes and the deteriorating security situation at the southern entrance to the city,” Sabha municipality said in a statement.
It added that the total number of displaced civilians was 700 plus 200 children.
It also said a committee was formed to identify the displaced, meet their needs and provide them with urgent assistance.
Al-Taher Al-Zawiy Charity said through its spokesman that they had provided food for the displaced, whom he said were relocated to a local school outside the clashes zone.
Official records of Sabha Medical Center said over 6 people were killed and others were injured in the clashes between Sixth Brigade Infantry of GNA Defense Minister and armed groups, whom the mayor described as from Tubu tribe and foreign mercenaries “recruited by Khalifa Haftar.”
