Mitiga airport in Libya’s capital resume flights

Mitiga airport’s administration in Tripoli said it had resumed flights as normal after suspending them temporarily this morning due to unknown drones hovering in the area.

The airport’s administration said the first flight to arrive was coming from Tunisia and the second was a Libyan Airlines fight coming from Istanbul – a delayed flight from Tuesday.

“The suspension of flights came after we had received instructions from the Civil Aviation Authority for the safety of the passengers.” The administration explained.

It added that the decision was also based on fears of unknown targets of unknown drones hovering in the area of the airport, which could at any time cause a disaster in the air.
