UNSMIL voices concern over ongoing incitement on social media in Libya

The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) expressed concern about the continued incitement in the social media channels in Libya, to demonise and criminalise fellow Libyans.

“Such hateful rhetoric serves the narrow interests of those who profit from conflict and fear peace” UNSMIL tweeted.

It also emphasized that freedom of expression should be fully protected and upheld across Libya, noting that it will continue to follow this matter closely.
