Libya’s Interior Ministry releases 350 migrants from airstrike-hit Tajoura center

The United Nations Higher Commission of Refugees (UNHCR) said on Tuesday that the Libyan Interior Ministry had released 350 illegal migrants from a detention center in east of the capital Tripoli.

“We thank the Libyan Ministry of Interior for releasing refugees and migrants from Tajoura detention center. 350 people were still at risk in Tajoura and now free,” the UN agency said.

“UNHCR will provide assistance through its urban response program Refugees,” UNHCR added.

An airstrike by Khalifa Haftar’s forces hit the center a few days ago, killing more than 50 people and injuring more than 130 others.
