UNSMIL says it’s following attempts to sell Libyan oil illegally

Deputy head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Stephanie Williams said that the United Nations is closely following the attempts of the parallel oil institution under the eastern authorities in Libya to export oil, in violation of the United Nations resolutions, underscoring that the National Oil Cooperation (NOC) is the only recognized entity, internationally, that has the right to sell Libyan oil.

William’s remarks came in a meeting, Friday, with the NOC Chairman Mustafa Sanallah, on increasing Libya’s oil production in the coming years, according to the UNSMIL’s Facebook page.
