At least 15 people including women and children were killed in air strikes on the eastern Libyan city of Derna late on Monday, a medical source and a resident said.

The Tripoli special deterrence force Rada, headed by Abdul Raouf Kara, is reported to have arrested at least three members of the Derna Revolutionaries’ Shoura Council (DRSC) who have been staying recently in the city.

Clashes erupted Wednesday among groups of gunmen of Omar Al-Mukhtar operations room near Martuba checkpoint in east Derna. According to eyewitnesses, the gunmen used light weapons to resolve the dispute over who should be controlling the checkpoint that separate Derna from the areas eastward.

Pro-Haftar Omar Al-Mukhtar Operations Room is preparing for carrying out a land attack on Derna city in the coming days after the crippling siege that has been laid by Haftar’s forces on the city depriving them of basic humanitarian needs.

Derna Local Council (DLC) has issued a distress call to local and international organizations to intervene and lift the siege imposed by Dignity Operation militia groups on the city.

Sources from the city of Derna, eastern side of Libya, said, on Wednesday, that armed elements affiliated with the forces of the Dignity Operation that led by General Khalifa Haftar had shot citizens from Derna on the way to Martouba, eastern Derna.

Wehda Hospital in the besieged city of Derna in eastern Libya has received a copy of the order of the Omar Al-Mukhtar Operations Room of Dignity Operation that allows supply of medicines and medical equipment to the hospital, the Head Director Mansour Ben Fayed said in a statement.
