American arms dealer who attempted sale of Russian-made missiles to Libya sentenced to 30 years

A 53-year-old naturalised American citizen was handed a 30-year prison sentence by a Los Angeles federal court for attempting to sell surface-to-air missiles to Libyan militants and other groups in the Middle East. Rami Najm Asad-Ghanem pleaded guilty to multiple federal crimes at his November trial.

Tripoli condemns torture and killing of prisoners

The Tripoli Ministry of Health aligned to the Faiez Serraj-led Presidency Council and Government of National Accord condemned what it called the “heinous practices of killing prisoners after torturing them and abusing their bodies in ways that violate all local and international laws and customs”.
